I was certain that I would be packing it up and relocating remotely this winter for at least one month.  I self-declared it last spring and recanted by fall.  My reasoning?  I needed  winter to clean up the studio, physically (i.e. floor repair, new imagery on walls, clearing clutter) and inwardly (i.e. database reorganization, blogsite overhaul, summer 2012 preparation).  The mildness of this particular, northern michigan winter has made it easier for me to tackle my "to-do" list so I'm just fine with my decision to stay put.

Below is my latest creation, a sample album I designed to showcase some of my favorite, lifestyle family imagery.  I'm super excited to see the finished product.  Don't worry, I'll share the results right here.  Promise!   - Beth

Twenty-Four

Lisa and Edward were one of my bridal couples during my first few years located in Northern Michigan.  They now have two daughters and I recently had the pleasure of photographing them in our studio in Traverse City.

Sisters.  What could be better?!  My sister is my best friend.

Congratulations, Lisa and Edward, on another beautiful addition to your family.  Ellie and Clara, congratulations on entering sisterhood.  I promise there is no greater gift your parents could have given you!

Day Seventeen...

A few weeks ago while I was in Chicago I had a session with Nate, one of my most active two-year-olds ever.  In fact, he may even win the prize as most active one-year-old, too, since he didn't stop when I photographed him last fall, either.  This is what I love about Nate, though, that he has no time to stop.  Life is too exciting for him to sit idle.

I've found that reasoning and trying to mold a toddler into standing still is pretty much not worth an ounce of effort.  That's why we go with the flow and have as much fun as possible.  So we did!  Thanks Chip and Norma for going with the flow, too, and for bringing plenty of extra clothes.  They sure came in handy after we found the puddles!
